ABOUT B&B: B & B Volleyball, as a club, had its best season, with its teams finishing a combined 734-421. As a club, B & B teams won 26 tournaments, including 4 overnight tournament gold bracket championships in 2018-19. B & B had 7 teams finish in the top 10 in the region, including our 14 White, which finished 1st in the region. Every one of our teams won at least 1 tournament this season. Of the 97 tournaments our club teams participated in, they finished in the top 3 in 59 of them. B&B Volleyball was co-founded in 2008 by Keith Burt and Mike Brewer. Mike and Keith ensure a structured and energetic program geared towards improving each player’s physical skills, as well as their understanding of the game through the B&B coaches while ensuring a fun family like atmosphere. B & B has assembled a talented group of coaches with an extensive playing and coaching experience in college and national levels. B & B has maintained top 5 teams in the region every year since its inception, including multiple #1 finishes in the region. Keith and Mike have over 40 years combined experience in indoor volleyball and beach doubles and have won numerous east coast beach doubles tournaments, competing in the A, AA & open divisions. Keith and Mike won the 2007 US Men’s Beach Doubles East Coast Grand Prix title. Prior to entering the club volleyball world, they volunteered their coaching time in multiple CYO programs and guided their teams to 10 CYO championships. In 2013, both Mike and Keith received the CYO Role Model award for their dedication. They continue to bring that same dedication and personal attention to the club program. CO-DIRECTOR & ON-SITE DIRECTOR: Keith Burt CO-DIRECTOR & TREASURER: Mike Brewer LEAD COACHES: Keith Burt Carlos Juarez Jamie Schlesinger RECRUITING COORDINATOR: Jamie Schlesinger COACHES: Coach Keith Burt: Coach Keith brings 20 years of coaching experience at the club, high school and CYO levels and has been the B & B lead coach since its inception, overseeing all B & B coaches. In 2018-2019, Coach Keith coached 3 B & B teams to top 5 finishes in the region, including the 14 Black to 3rd in the power open division and the 14 White to a #1 finish in the region. Coach Keith led the 14 Black to a Gold Bracket undefeated Championship at the 2019 Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival and led the 14 White to a Gold Bracket Championship at the 2019 Rhode Island Rumble. Coach Keith has now coached a B & B team to #1 in the region for 4 consecutive years. In addition to that, Coach Keith has coached 8 teams to top 3 finishes in the region in the last 5 years and 13 teams to top 10 finishes in the last 8 years. Coach Keith has also volunteered his time, coaching 10 CYO championship teams in addition to his club coaching. In 2013, Coach Keith received the CYO Role Model award. Coach Carlos Juarez: Coach Carlos is an experienced and skilled volleyball coach and player with extensive knowledge of team and individual coaching techniques. Carlos began his playing career with participating in the National level division play in his home country of El Salvador from 1988-1990, where he also acted as interim head coach. Shortly after, Carlos initiated the formation of the Police Academy volleyball team in Santa Tecla, where he coached for several seasons. Carlos has over 20 years of experience at the high school level where he's coached at Holy Trinity, Mepham, and currently at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Carlos has been a lead coach for B & B since its inception, coaching its top open & club teams every season. Carlos has coached B & B teams to #1 finishes in the region twice and numerous teams to top 10 finishes, including 3 teams in 2018-2019 in the top 10. Carlos coached our 17 Black team to a Gold Bracket Championship in the 2019 New England Winterfest tournament in Hartford. Carlos is also a qualified Class B International Referee. Coach Jamie Schlesinger: Coach Jamie Schlesinger was an All State player, 3 time All County & Conference player and 3 time Conference & County Champ at Massapequa High School. Coach Jamie was a 17U GEVA champion and participated in Minneapolis, MN Nationals in 2014. Coach Jamie was on the 2015 Newsday top 10 list. Coach Jamie was a starting right side at SUNY Brockport and 3 time SUNYAC Champion, competing at NCAA Regionals 3 times, making it to Sweet 16 in 2016 receiving All tournament honors. Coach Jamie has had extensive success as a beach doubles volleyball player as well, winning the Junior Nationals in 2014 and making the finals in 2015. Jamie has won a number of beach doubles women's tournaments and high level coed doubles tournaments. Coach Jamie has experience coaching beach doubles for B & B. Coach Jamie graduated college after 3 years with a degree in Kinesiology and Psychology. Coach Jamie enters her 2nd season with B & B after coaching 2 B & B teams to top 10 finishes in 2018-2019 and winning the 15's Gold bracket of the 2019 Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival. Coach Jamie will continue to assist our players with college recruiting this season and beyond. Coach Nikki Spalma: Coach Nikki is currently the head varsity volleyball coach at West Babylon High School. Coach Nikki is an alumni of Sayville High School, Suffolk Community College, and SUNY New Paltz. She was Captain for all of her volleyball, softball, and soccer teams. She has been coaching for Sayville Volleyball camps since 2006. Nikki has been the Head Volleyball coach for the Junior Beach Programs at Robert Moses and Cedar Beach for 5 years. She was the Head JV Volleyball coach for Harborfields High School in 2014 and the Head JV Volleyball coach for Port Jefferson High School in 2015. Nikki is entering her 6th season for B & B Volleyball, having coached multiple top 10 finishing B & B teams in the region. In 2018-2019, she led our 14 White team to #1 in the region out of 114 teams, also winning the 14's Gold Bracket of the Rhode Island Rumble. Coach Sabrina Galeotafiore: Coach Sabrina has been a part of B & B Volleyball as a player and coach since 2014, when her 16U team finished 121-7. Coach Sabrina is entering her 4th year with B & B. Coach Sabrina specializes in coaching and guiding our younger teams. In her time with B & B, Coach Sabrina has coached teams to top 6 finishes in 3 consecutive seasons. Coach Sabrina was a starter at libero and defensive specialist throughout high school and earned the "Best Defensive Specialist" award on both JV and varsity. Coach Sabrina has also spent 3 years coaching beach volleyball with Jones Beach State Park and B & B, as well as running the St. Francis De Chantal Church's summer camp. Coach Cecilia Lee: Coach Cecilia played volleyball at Brooklyn Technical High School. She attended Cornell and played volleyball on a team that qualified for nationals. Coach Cecilia has over a decade of playing and coaching experience in both beach and indoor volleyball. Coach Cecilia will be entering her second year coaching club & beach volleyball with B & B after assisting in leading the 14 Blue team to a 13th place finish out of 114 teams.. Coach Megan Grgas: Coach Megan's competitive volleyball career began in Colorado where she played for the nationally acclaimed Front Range Volleyball Club from 1998-2002. Megan competed at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships each year, and with her team, earned the Gold Medal in the 18 Open Division in 2002. Upon completing her club volleyball career, Megan attended Villanova University and was a member of the Division 1 Volleyball Team, competing in the Big East Conference. As the starting libero, she helped her team qualify for the Big East Conference Tournaments from 2002-2006. Megan also acted as the team's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, working as liaison between the team and the Athletic Department. Coach Sofia Goris: Coach Sofia was a 4 year starter and 3 year captain for SUNY Old Westbury at libero. Coach Sofia enters her 4th year with B & B after assisting the 18U teams her first 2 years and assisting last year's B & B 16 Black team to a top 10 finish. Coach Sofia played at The Mary Louis Academy High School and was awarded the defensive player of the year in 2015. Coach Sofia has received the Athletic Directors and Skyline Conference academic honor roll. Coach Dave Pugh: Coach Dave is an alumni of Binghamton University, where he played as a middle blocker for the club team. Coach Dave has been involved in indoor and beach volleyball for 18 years. Coach Dave is currently the head coach of the West Babylon High School JV girls team and head coach of the middle school boys team. Coach Dave is entering his second year coaching for B & B. Coach Jason Maser: Coach Jason enters his 3rd year coaching with B & B after coaching with our very successful 12's, 14's & 15's teams last season. Coach Jason also coaches for our beach program. As a player, Coach Jason is currently playing in college after a high school and club career that resulted in MVP, All-State, All-County, All-Class, and All-Tournament awards presented by the Long Island Coaches Association. Coach Jason was the captain of his high school volleyball team throughout his high school tenure. Coach Jason has competed in beach doubles tournaments, winning numerous tournaments.
