ABOUT B&B:
B&B Volleyball was co-founded in 2008 by Keith Burt and Mike Brewer. Keith and Mike have over 23 years combined experience in beach doubles and have won numerous beach doubles tournaments at the A and AA level, as well as many co-ed tournaments. Keith and Mike won the 2007 US Men’s A Division East Coast Grand Prix title. Additionally, they have coached 8 CYO championship teams in the last 10 years. In 2013 both Mike and Keith received the CYO Role Model award. Mike and Keith ensure a structured and energetic program geared towards improving each player’s physical skills, as well as their understanding of the game through the B&B coaches. CO-DIRECTOR & ON-SITE DIRECTOR: Keith Burt CO-DIRECTOR & TREASURER: Mike Brewer COACHES: Coach Keith Burt: Coach Keith brings 17 years of coaching experience at the club, high school and CYO levels. Keith has coached 10 CYO championship teams in the last 13 years. In 2013, Keith received the CYO Role Model award. Coach Keith coached the B & B 12U team to a top 3 finish in the region in 2014-2015 in their first year of competition and coached the B & B 13U team to another top 3 finish in the region in 2015-2016. Coach Carlos Juarez: Coach Carlos is an experienced and skilled volleyball coach and player with extensive knowledge of team and individual coaching techniques. Carlos began his playing career with participating in the National level division play in his home country of El Salvador from 1988-1990, where he also acted as interim head coach. Shortly after, Carlos initiated the formation of the Police Academy volleyball team in Santa Tecla, where he coached for several seasons. Carlos has over 18 years of experience at the high school level where he's coached at Holy Trinity, Mepham, and currently at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Carlos is also a qualified Class B International Referee. Coach Nikki Spalma: Coach Nikki is an alumni of Sayville High School, Suffolk Community College, and SUNY New Paltz. She was Captain for all of her volleyball, softball, and soccer teams. She has been coaching for Sayville Volleyball camps since 2006. Nikki has been the Head Volleyball coach for the Junior Beach Programs at Robert Moses and Cedar Beach for the past 3 years. She was the Head JV Volleyball coach for Harborfields High School in 2014 and the Head JV Volleyball coach for Port Jefferson High School in 2015. Nikki is currently the Assistant Volleyball Coach for SUNY Old Westbury. Nikki is entering her third season for B & B Club Volleyball. Nikki offers private volleyball and softball lessons, which can include training groups of 10 or more. Coach Braeden Henry: Coach Braeden, a native of Antigua, has been playing volleyball for the past 14 year. He made the Junior National Team at age 17 and later the Senior National Team and competed in various tournaments and invitationals. He has participated in four FIVB sanctioned SAP courses conducted by Canadian Coach Paul Brasson. Braeden coached the Christ The King High School volleyball team(Antigua) and The Wings Womens Volleyball team also in Antigua. He played club volleyball at Ohio University and has played competitively in the NY Urban Professional League for the past 6 years. Braeden served as the assistant coach at Medger Evers College male and female volleyball team and he has also coached with NYC Juniors VBC, All Starr VBC and Club Ace Long Island. He looks forward to working with the B & B Volleyball Club and assisting in making the club grow. Coach Rich Borawski: Coach Rich joins B&B Volleyball with over 20 years coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels! Rich first began his coaching career at the high school level back in 1992. Several years later, in 1998, Rich made the leap to the collegiate level, coaching at both Division I and Division III programs. Rich has remained a constant in the volleyball community over the last 20 years, coaching and building multiple programs throughout Long Island. Rich is in his second season as Head Coach with the Women’s Volleyball program at SUNY Old Westbury. Coach Megan Grgas: Coach Megan's competitive volleyball career began in Colorado where she played for the nationally acclaimed Front Range Volleyball Club from 1998-2002. Megan competed at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships each year, and with her team, earned the Gold Medal in the 18 Open Division in 2002. Upon completing her club volleyball career, Megan attended Villanova University and was a member of the Division 1 Volleyball Team, competing in the Big East Conference. As the starting libero, she helped her team qualify for the Big East Conference Tournaments from 2002-2006. Megan also acted as the team's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, working as liaison between the team and the Athletic Department. |
