ABOUT B&B: B&B Volleyball was co-founded in 2008 by Keith Burt and Mike Brewer, the "B's" of B & B Volleyball. CLUB PHILOSOPHY B & B Volleyball ensures a structured and energetic program involving high level training geared towards improving each player’s physical skills, as well as their understanding of the game through the B&B coaches. B & B focuses not only on improving the physical skills of its athletes, but also their ability to analyze game situations and make adjustments. All of this is accomplished while ensuring a fun family-like atmosphere. B & B has assembled a talented and highly accredited group of coaches with extensive playing and coaching experience at the college and national levels. B & B has maintained top 5 teams in the region in the club and open divisions every year since its inception, including multiple #1 finishes in the region. Our top, or "black level" teams compete for the Open division every year. Many of our athletes have gone on to successful college careers playing Div 1, 2 & 3 collegiate indoor and beach('sand') volleyball. Keith and Mike have over 40 years combined experience in indoor volleyball and beach doubles and have won numerous east coast beach doubles tournaments, competing in the highest divisions. Keith and Mike won the 2007 US Men’s Beach Doubles East Coast Grand Prix title. Keith and Mike are also very involved in growing the game of volleyball in the local community, volunteering their coaching time in multiple CYO programs. Both Mike and Keith were awarded the prestigious CYO Role Model Award, given to a very select few for their voluntary dedication to CYO and the young athletes that participate in CYO volleyball. They continue to bring that same dedication and personal attention to the B & B club program. DIRECTORS: Mike Brewer Keith Burt ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: Sabrina Galeotafiore LEAD COACH: Keith Burt RECRUITING COORDINATOR: Mike Brewer COACHES: Coach Keith Burt: Coach Keith brings 25 years of coaching experience at the club, college, high school and CYO levels and has been the B & B lead coach since its inception, overseeing all B & B coaches for the last 15 years. From 2019-22, Coach Keith coached B & B teams to top 5 finishes in the region in each year, including the 14 Black to a #1 finish in the region in consecutive years and a bid to AAU Nationals. This followed a 2018-2019 campaign where he coached 3 B & B teams to top 5 finishes in the region, including the 14 Black to 3rd in the power open division and the 14 White to a #1 finish in the region. Coach Keith led the 14 Black to a Gold Bracket undefeated Championship at the 2019 Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival and led the 14 White to a Gold Bracket Championship at the 2019 Rhode Island Rumble. Coach Keith has now coached a B & B team to #1 in the region for an unprecedented 5 consecutive years. In addition to that, Coach Keith has coached 10 teams to top 3 finishes in the region and 20 teams to top 10 finishes. Coach Keith has also volunteered his time, coaching 10 CYO championship teams in addition to his club coaching. In 2013, Coach Keith received the prestigious CYO Role Model award. 
Coach Sabrina Galeotafiore: Coach Sabrina has been a part of B & B Volleyball as a player and coach since 2014, when her 16U team finished 121-7. Coach Sabrina is entering her 7th year with B & B. In addition to her assistant director duties, Coach Sabrina has coached teams to top 6 finishes in 3 consecutive seasons. Additionally, Coach Sabrina coordinates our private and small group lessons. Coach Sabrina was a starter at libero and defensive specialist throughout high school and earned the "Best Defensive Specialist" award on both JV and varsity. Coach Sabrina has also spent 6 years coaching beach volleyball with Jones Beach State Park and B & B, overseeing our Juniors Beach Club in 2021, as well as running the St. Francis De Chantal Church's summer camp.
Coach Nikki Spalma: Coach Nikki is currently the head junior varsity volleyball coach at Miller Place High School. Coach Nikki is an alumni of Sayville High School, Suffolk Community College, and SUNY New Paltz. She was Captain for all of her volleyball, softball, and soccer teams. She has been coaching for Sayville Volleyball camps since 2006. Nikki has been the Head Volleyball coach for the Junior Beach Programs at Robert Moses and Cedar Beach for 5 years. She was the Head JV Volleyball coach for Harborfields High School in 2014 and the Head JV Volleyball coach for Port Jefferson High School in 2015. Nikki is entering her 9th season for B & B Volleyball, having coached numerous top 10 finishing B & B teams in the region. In 2018-2019, she led our 14 White team to #1 in the region out of 114 teams, also winning the 14's Gold Bracket of the Rhode Island Rumble. She followed that up with coaching 3 teams into the top 6 in the region in 2019-20, including the 14 Black to #1 in the region, winning the New England Winterfest in Hartford, CT and the Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival.
Coach Kim Gries: Kim enters her 2nd year on the B & B staff with 7 years of coaching experience following a very successful playing career. Kim was the Head Volleyball Captain while playing 4 years at Mount Saint Mary College as a starting setter. Kim had a very successful season coaching in '21-22 with our 14's and 15's teams.
Coach Carlos Juarez: Coach Carlos is an experienced and skilled volleyball coach and player with extensive knowledge of team and individual coaching techniques. Carlos began his playing career with participating in the National level division play in his home country of El Salvador from 1988-1990, where he also acted as interim head coach. Shortly after, Carlos initiated the formation of the Police Academy volleyball team in Santa Tecla, where he coached for several seasons. Carlos has over 20 years of experience at the high school level where he's coached at Holy Trinity, Mepham, and currently at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Carlos has been a lead coach for B & B since its inception, coaching its top open & club teams every season. Carlos has coached B & B teams to #1 finishes in the region twice and numerous teams to top 10 finishes, including 4 teams in the last 2 years. Carlos coached our 17 Black team to a Gold Bracket Championship in the 2019 New England Winterfest tournament in Hartford. Carlos is also a qualified Class B International Referee.
Coach Christi Schmitt: Coach Christi is in her 5th year of coaching in the B & B program. Coach Christi played volleyball for St. Anthony's High School as an All-League player, competing in states and being selected for "The Alumni" Award, given to the player most exemplifying leadership, dedication & positive attitude on and off the court. Coach Christi received a full volleyball scholarship to Molloy College before pursuing a Division 1 volleyball career at Marist. While a knee injury hampered her playing career, it led Christi to a coaching career, where she has brought her extensive experience to teach the game to the next generation of players. Coach Christi has been instrumental in developing our beach and indoor players, both new players and club players and we are excited to have her on our indoor club staff.
Coach Irene Lountzis: Coach Irene enters her 4th season coaching with B & B after 3 successful seasons bringing the best out of our youngest players. Irene was a 4 year starter at libero at The Wheatley School and is currently at St. John's University.
Coach Lauren Hayes: Coach Lauren is in her 4th season with B & B and specializes with teaching fundamentals to our youngest players. Lauren has run our beach developmental program the past 2 years, the 2021 & 2022 summer seasons and has instructed our developmental indoor programs and clinics, as well as coaching our club teams Coach Julia Rooney: Coach Julia returns for her 2nd season with B & B after a successful 1st year campaign coaching our 14's & 15's teams to top finishes in the region.
Coach Brianna Donlon: Coach Brianna returns for her 4th season with B & B, successfully head and assistant coaching our younger and older teams in her first 3 years with the club.
Coach Megan Grgas: Coach Megan's competitive volleyball career began in Colorado where she played for the nationally acclaimed Front Range Volleyball Club from 1998-2002.
Megan competed at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships each year, and with her team, earned the Gold Medal in the 18 Open Division in 2002. Upon completing her club volleyball career, Megan attended Villanova University and was a member of the Division 1 Volleyball Team, competing in the Big East Conference. As the starting libero, she helped her team qualify for the Big East Conference Tournaments from 2002-2006. Megan also acted as the team's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, working as liaison between the team and the Athletic Department. Coach Sofia Goris: Coach Sofia was a 4 year starter and 3 year captain for SUNY Old Westbury at libero. Coach Sofia enters her 5th year with B & B after assisting the 18U teams her first 2 years and assisting last year's B & B 16 Black team to a top 10 finish, as well as several other teams. Coach Sofia played at The Mary Louis Academy High School and was awarded the defensive player of the year in 2015. Coach Sofia has received the Athletic Directors and Skyline Conference academic honor roll.
